About Frugally Blonde

I am Liz, a young mom living in Northern Virginia with my husband and two little girls ("GiGi," age 3, and "LuLu," age 1).  My husband works in IT, and I stay home with our girls.  I consider my part-time job to be finding creative ways to save money for my family.   On this blog, I share what I've learned!

And no, I'm not a blonde!

The name "Frugally Blonde" was inspired by my blonde mom, the original "coupon queen" and my teacher and inspiration in frugality. The name is also expresses my belief that you don't have to have to be a special kind of person to be frugal and manage your money well.  Whether you were raised frugally or not, whether you are "naturally" a spender or a saver, rich or poor, blonde or brunette -- I believe that living within your means is both attainable and desireable.

Frugally Blonde is all about "living the good life on less." I write about all aspects of frugal living, everything from couponing to thrift store shopping to cooking and gardening.  I'm far from an expert, but I love to experiment to find new ways to save.  I firmly believe that it is possible to live an exciting and fulfilling life without spending a lot of money!

Some regular features on my blog that you may enjoy include my Monday or Tuesday Weekly Deal Roundup, my Tuesday Tip, and my Saturday shopping totals for the week. I also put together a weekly list of deals at Wegmans with coupon matchups, which usually appears on Tuesday.

Also feel free to check out some of my most popular posts, listed on my left sidebar, including Eating Healthy on a Budget, 7 Simple Ways to Save on Groceries, and Homemade Bagels.
